»The SIP Enabled Hosted PBX
IP Telephony means telephone by internet protocol. Internet protocol allows computers to speak/relay data between themselves instantly and for Free. When a voicecall is made using IP the Telephony technology has to keep the call running in a continuous stream - in two directions.
Just like all our other products, we research the market to find the ideal Hosted PBX solution for your business. Currently preferred suppliers in this area include, Talking Platforms, Feature Plus, InClarity and others.
Under a Hosted PBX, all calls arrive and depart via your broadband connection. Each extension will be able to have their own direct-dial number as well as being accessible from the switchboard.
Because the calls are run over Broadband, they are Free! Well Free if they are between each other (any where in the world too) and Free until leave the Internet in order to be delivered into someone else's telephone equipment.
The actual PBX is server based, and as such, this is a very flexible system that can be adapted to any change of circumstance or demand, generally, at very short notice.

The Handsets and Equipment
There are many manufacturers of quality SIP enabled phones. We will make our recommendation following our needs assessment upon your business. In some cases, we recommend the X-Lite from Counterpath as the ideal homeworker solution. This is a softphone, that has two lines and runs on a PC using speakers and a microphone - eminently portable!
For day to day offices, we lean towards the SNOM range - strong, reliable easy to use.
